2 Ingredient Recipe
BISQUICK: Create a thin or thick-crust style pizza that’s ready for topping, baking, and enjoying, all without leaving home with simple Bisquick. It’s safe to use a store brand of premixed dough too, or use this easy Copycat Bisquick Recipe.
WATER: Water is called for, but any liquid will work. Feel free to use milk or a dairy free milk. Just warm it up in the microwave for about 30 seconds to a minute, since the recipe calls for hot water.
TOPPINGS: Anything goes on a pizza! Here’s a shortlist of favorites!
- Sauce: Tomato, marinara, alfredo or a quick swipe of olive oil are all excellent bases for toppings, or to bake on their own!
- Meat: Pepperoni, sausage, shredded chicken or pork, and ground beef are all easy meat ideas for pizza!
- Vegetables: Diced or sliced tomatoes, spinach, onions, mushroom, and black olives are popular choices. But bell peppers sliced zucchini, yellow squash, kale or arugula are healthy additions, as well. And don’t forget pineapple!
- Cheese: Cheese melts everything together and adds an array of bright and tangy flavors. Everything from Asiago to Jarlsberg will melt perfectly on homemade pizza!
How to Make Bisquick Pizza Dough
When it’s time to cook the crusts, place disks on a baking pan or pizza stone, add sauce and toppings, and then bake. Here’s how to mix the dough:
- Mix Bisquick mix with hot water (as per recipe below) until combined. Use a wooden spoon or a mixer with a dough hook.
- Cover with a clean towel and allow it to rest and rise for just 10 minutes.
- Roll into a large circle or portion out and let everyone make their own pizza.
Best Pizza Tips
- The dough might be ‘shaggy’ or a little sticky during the rising stage. This is okay. Sprinkle a little flour on the rolling surface to keep the dough from sticking, but avoid adding too much flour during mixing or shaping so it doesn’t dry out the crust while it bakes.
- Make fresh dough balls in advance and keep them in the refrigerator until they are ready to use. Simply let them come to room temperature before rolling and shaping into disks.
- Extra dough can be made into small Pizza Dough Breadsticks. Freeze portioned dough balls in plastic wrap for up to 8 weeks. Thaw and when they come to room temperature, use as directed.
